Canon Central and North Africa, a leader in imaging solutions launched Canon Discovery Week in Lagos recently.
Canon Week is said to be dedicated to professional photographers and amateurs. It is aimed at Canon users familiarity with the products and opportunity to interact with the Canon team who are happyto share best practices and give advice on their products.
According to Mai Youssef, Canon Moyen-Orient, the week witnessed a nature photo walk led by local Nigerian Canon photographer, Hakeem Salam. Also Canon Academy educational workshops was hosted by Canon trainers which gave opportunity for interactions with Canon experts. Fashion photography, Pro-Video and EOS-R were priortised in an attempt by the company to support the youths pursue their passion through these accessible courses.
Canon’s customer culture was also upheld during this period as active innovation strategy was brought to fore at the week -long event.
According to the organisers, many of the participating photographers, both amateurs and professionals were encouraged to express their creativity and follow their passion. It availed participants offers to test Canon’s latest devices in real conditions such as the EOS 2000D,EOS 90D, EOS M6 Mark II, Powershot G7 X Mark III, Canon Professional Camcorders XA55/XA50, XA40, Canon Zoemini and Canon’s refillable ink tank PIXMA G Series printers and many more.
Amine Djouahra, Sales and Marketing Director –B2C, Canon Central and North Africa explained the event was meant to maintain a great bond with their customers.
She said, ” We are building on the success of last year. Our objective is plural is to meet and exchange with photographers, give them a satisfying customer experience by helping them become more familiar with our devices and allow us better anticipate their ever changing needs.
“We aim to maintain this meeting with our customers every year in order
to sustain this essential link that allows us to refresh our offerings regularly and launch innovative products that meet or even anticipate our customers’ needs.’’
In a bid to practice the brand’s corporate philosophy, Kyosei – living and working together for the common good, Canon recently partnered the award winning ace movie actor and producer, Kunle Afolayan in the movie, ‘Mekaliki’ where Canon cameras were used in the shoot of the film. Also, a photographer, Akeem Salam, has one of his works adorned the designed Canon camera box of the new EOS series to demonstrate the brand’s commitment to operating closer to its customers.
