Ada Ameh also known as Emu Johnson, in the popular Africa Magic family entertainment programme ‘The Johnsons’ died on Sunday night.
This was confirmed on Monday by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rolla, The cause of the death unknown at the time of filing this report.
The actress was 48 years old and an indigene of Benue state.
Ameh was born on May 15,1974 and had a daughter at the age of 14years old that led to separation between her parents at the time.
Problems began when she lost her only daughter and found solace in alcohol to live through the challenging period. She once hinted of litigation over inability to keep up with production agreement
The actress lost her only daughter, Aladi Godgift Ameh in October 2020 after a surgery she underwent in Abuja.
According to Ada in an interview with Chide Judenwo in 2021, said, Aladi was sick and went to the hospital and the doctors advised she undergo surgery over a tumour growth. The operation was successful as they both spoke the next day of the surgery but she lost Aladi afterwards at the age of 32 years old .
Ada Ameh has been in the Nigeria Nollywood industry for more than 25 years and she started her career with the blockbuster movie, Domitilla.
She has featured in several movies which include Oloture, 30 Days in Atlanta and many others.
She was the current lead role player for one Nigeria sitcom programme on DSTV, ‘The Johnsons’
Ada was an advocate for the girl child development project and has received accolades within and outside the country for excellence.
